2nd october i. e Gandhi Jayanti
Bapu
you might be watching from above
watching the country from above
watching the country of your dreams
and lamenting how the dreams are shatteted
your three monkeys
the models of  an  ideal life
are licking dust

do not speak any thing bad
we do not
we do not speak
because
the people who matter in the country do not like us to speak

do not see anything bad
it means we should stop seeing
after all we should not see anything bad
and there is nothing good to see

do not listen what is bad
and there is nothing good to listen to

Bapu
look at the country
for which you fasted unto death many times
corruption in every sphere
criminals sitting in the parliament
riots in the name of religions
rapes of  kids
rapes of girls
rapes of mothers and grandmothers
ours has become a country of rapes

Yes rapes
not only girls are raped
not only women are raped
every institution  in India is being raped
how many corruption cases
how many scams
2G scam,coalgate
so many criminal politicians
where is RAM RAJ
when the children are spoilt
we blame parents
should we blame you now
should we blame you now?

GURIA DELHI AND POLICE

5years old girl raped in Delhi. Was shocked though it was not the first time that I heard such an incident happen. The girl was playing in the neighbourhood .4 months back the rape of Nirbhaya had shook the conscience of the country. At that time it seemed that the things would change for the better. But Delhi is getting worst.Rapes and rapes and rapes. Is police only for the security of VIPs?.More than  150 rapes happened in our capital in the last 4 months. Justice delayed is justice denied .And see how  the things work.Quick action is missing from the beginning. It is difficult to lodge an FIR.It can take sometimes months. Then the role of the investigating agency. It seems work is done halfheartedly .Criminals have no fear of law enforcing agency.Even police has no fear of any action that can be taken when they do their duty halfheartedly. If report is written immediately followed by quick action, it will instil fear in the minds of tbe criminals. If the case  is not solved within a stipulated period ,action should be  taken, such steps  can certainly go a long way in improving the working of law enforcing agenciesExemplary  punishment is required to instil fear in tbe minds of criminals against committing crime and in the minds of law enforcing agencies against neglecting their duties.

chalta hai

We are hearing of corruption all the time .The level of corruption is rising astronomically. You can judge this change whenyou read this poem which was written about 50 years back.Corruption was at the level of giving gifts. Such scams were unheard of. A crorepati clerk was never heard of . Here is the  poem. It is in Hindi .Each line is followed by its English translation.
Jab suraj sham ko dhalta hai
When the sun sets in the evening
kothi par sab kuch chalta hai
Every thing is right at the residence
Dafter ko pahunche late hum
I was late to the office
Aage na tha afser bhi kam
The officer was strict
Hamari checking ho gai
I was checked for being late
Hamse kya galti ho
What was my fault
Afsar hua khilaf kyon
Why was the officer against me
Saathi se pucha hamne yun
I asked my friend like this
Tum na aaye saara din
You didnt come the whole day
Aur voh bhi arji ke bin
And that also without application
Main aaya aadha khanta late
I was late by half an hour only
Kyon banane laga mera omlette
Why am I being victimised
Kehne laga sun mere yaar
O my friend! Listen to me
Hokar zara tun hoshiyar
And listen to me seriously
Sahib ki kothi main gaya
I went to the officer's residence
Haath main dibba liya
With a tin of sweets in hand
Munne ko ja pakra diya
Handed it over to the officet's son
Aur kaha
And said
Kal aaunga kuch der se
I shall be late tomorrow
Jana kahin suber se
I am to go in the morning
Sahib ne maun dhar liya
The officer kept silent
Hamney muh manga var liya
I got what I wanted
Tumney chachaĆ  kuchbhi kiya
My dear,what did you do
Aakhir munney ko kya diya
What did you gift the child
Voh na rishwat lete hain
He does not accept bribe
Lete kawal uphar hain
He only takes gifts
Jo unke munne ko dijiye
Whatever you gift his son
Karte use swikar hain
He accepts that
Hamne bhi raaj pa liya
I got the secret
Dil apne ko samjha liya
I made up my mind
Roj kothi jaane lage
Began to visit the kothi daily
Saatniyon ka dil hilane lage
And began to surprise the rest
Socha
I thought
Munna to abhi bachcha hai
The child is just a child
Madam ka dil bhi acha hai
It is better to win madam
Saree ka dibba liya
Took a saree as a gift
madam ko ja pakra diya
And handed it to madam
Madam ne dibba dhar liya
Madam accepted the gift
Hamne muh manga var liya
And I got a lift
Clerk se steno ban gaye
Got promoted as a steno
Jhak marte sab reh gaye
My friend grew frustrated
Kehne laga
Began to say
Seniority list ka kya hua
What happened to the seniority list
hamne use samjha diya
I told him boldly
Uska keha dohra diya
And repeated what he said
Jab suraj sham ko dhalta hai
When the sun sets in the evening
Kothi par sab kuch chalta hai
Every thing is right at the residence.

Rheumatic Artheritus -- how I came out of it?

' I'm planning to start working out'
'But why? You are quite normal.'
NORMAL,Don't youknow that Aman is cribbing all the time that I should take care of my weight. So I will have to.
Take care  but don't forget your problem lest that gets aggravated
The word problem shook me and I was driven back in the memory lane.
It was 1998. The month was Dec. We-all family members -were going to a faroff city  to attend some social function. The weather was foggy. It was biting cold.We reached Ambala by taxi .The train was late.It was being announced at hourly intervals.I enjoyed the weather. I roamed at the platform for 4 or 5 hours and then settled inthe waiting room. It was midnight. The train was 12 hours late.
We faced the same weather on our return journey as well.We again went to attend a marriage after two days. It was there that my problem started raising its head. My jaw was locked. I was fasting while all were enjoying the delicious food.
After about a week I felt pain in my wrists and ankles. I went to a neighbourhood doctor. He gave medicine for two days. On the third day he declared that I should go to the civil hospital. My instant reaction was -is it gathia(artheritus) ?He said,"I fear."
So I reached the hospital.I went through various tests . At last the doctor declared that it was Rheumatic artheritus and recommended painkillers till it became aggravated. I knew how terrible the problem could be .But I am thankful to God that i was not depressed .I just felt that I was getting my share of problems.
It was not acceptable to me to just take a painkiller for such a serious problem and wait for the problem to aggravate. Since allopathic  doc. was not ready to  give any medicine, I decidked to go for an alternate system of medicine.I went to a wellknown  homeopath. The doctor was quite confident and assured me that he could cure me.But in vain.
After about six months ,someone suggested to my husband to take me to an allopathic doctor who had cured his son cpmpletely. We contacted the doctor.Medication started after lots of tests. At first the visits to the doctor were on weekly intetervals. Then  the visits were  every fortnight and then every month. The medicine was the same but every month a lever test was recommended  to confirm that the medicine was not affecting lever.(the doctor told me so).Walks and exercises were also recommended though quite difficult for a patient. It continued for about two years but one question haunted me all the time-what if the lever is damaged? Moreover a close family friend kept on insisting to leave this treatment as it may lead to serious problems. At last I decided to try alternate system of medicine.I went to a homeopath again. He started the treatment but l had to take the painkiller I was told to continue the painkiller.A few months passed.I felt no improvement and was disappointed.
I now went to a well known ayurvedic doctor. The treatment started--damn expensive for a middle class person--lots of medicines. It continued for three or four months. There was improvement and then the doctor said ,"The treatment is over--you are 75% O.K.The rest will depend on your lifestyle and you can take any medicine recommended by me if you like.I could not understand the logic  of the last sentence.
A few momths passed. Life continued  on painkillers. Again I was told about a homeopath-an aged person.I went to him. He felt my  pulse and told a lot  of things about my problems and started medicine. My friends told me that he spoke these very sentences to all his patients.Doublemindedly I started the medicines.I felt some improvement. At that  time I was  having a sort of second elbow on my arm. With the medicine  the second elbow vanished. Again after some time the improvement stopped.I had to leave the doctor.
Life continued with the problem and the painkillers.
Nature has its own ways and there is time for everything. One of my colleagues advised me to go to a doctor in a village near Chandigarh. He was not a trained doctor. His father was a Hakeem and so he had some knowledge of a few diseases and its medicines.Having no other alternative I went to the doctor--a simple man who gave medicines and did some odd jobs  for a living. He diagnosed the problem from the urine bought by the patient. He gave me so many medicines some of which were prepared at home.No normal tea--only desi tea.Medicines started at four in the morning as they were to be taken before going to school.(I was working in a school at that time.) Fresh fruit in breakfast, beaten curd with pepper with lunch and dinner, water boiled with herbs during the day and so on. I religiously followed all his instructions.and my problem was under control. Now there was only one problem--I had the problem of temperature every fortnight for which I had to take a painkiller.
The medicine continued for about two years and then I discontinued it.I continued taking water boiled with herbs.Life went on.The problem, sometimes,  aggravated but was in control with the painkillers .
As luck would have it, a therapy named CERAGEM started in and around chandigarh. It was claimed it could cure  many of the chronic diseases .I was also tempted to go there .There was a lot of rush  It took about three hours to have the therapy of thirty minutes. Three months passed. All of a sudden my problem aggravated. All painkillers failed. The time was very testing. But I continued the therapy as it was claimed that the problem aggravated before subsiding. This position continued for five days .Even three painkillers a day were not giving any relief. On the sixth day , as I got up,I felt that there was no pain . As a precaution I took half the tablet. The whole day passed. There was no pain, .there was no temperature after that. I started feeling better.
Five years have passed. Now I often feel quite normal. Sometimes there is problem,  but it itself subsides in  two-three days.I often continue that herbal water. If I feel the need, I take the therapy as well ,as I have bought the machine at home for life-long use.
I am thankful to GOD and to all my friends and my near and dear ones for guiding me , giving me moral support and helping me in every possible way whenever the need arose.

GIVE THEM JUSTICE

unborn girls
killed before birth
because society wanted a male child
looked downwards from heaven and saw
lots of protests on the roads of delhi
boys and girls demanding justice
every one talking of a great fight given by amant or nirbhaya
they asked an angel passing by
what is going on in india
why are the boys and girls on the streets
having a candle march
facing cannons of water and teargasshells
why---why---why?
the angel replied
you know india very well
a country of double standards
good---they did not let you take birth
see the condition of women in india
no age group spared from rape and sexual assault
be the child of 6 months or the lady of 80
there is no brother, no father
man just becomes a beast
amant fought against the culprits
she was twenty three
she woke india from slumber
it was a gangrape
nirbhay and her friend
faced six vultures
nirbhay's body violated
both beaten
stripped naked
thrown from the moving bus
even attempted to crush
lying on the road in bitter cold
nirbhay was a brave girl
but alas!she is no more
Nirbhaya-a symbol of awakening
she shook the conscience of all
she fought against vultures
she fought for survival
she made the indian youth
bring the issue on the streets
she exposed the thinking of
so many politicians
and so many godfathers
she left the world
lets not let go
her sacrifice in vain
let it be our mission
to get her
and innumerable others like her
justice-justice-justice
